Regular Memberships
are accepted on an approval basis
only.  Your web site link will be permanently listed on our Regular Members page.

 

   

As an AAWM Regular Member, you will  be able to display our Official Membership Logo that represents "Promoting High Standards in Development and Positive Contributions to the Internet Community."

As an AAWM Regular Member, you will also receive our monthly newsletter with the latest happenings on the AAWM website.  Members will be kept up to date on contest, news, new members status, discounts on products, services and award store discounts.  Members will also be able to interact, exchange ideas, concepts, tips, tools and resources with other Webmasters by joining our Free Webmasters Forum and talk live in our Webmasters Chat Room.

Membership Terms and Condition:

  • The AAWM will not discriminate against acceptance into memberships because of age, race, gender, color, religion or handicaps.  However, due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), our members must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Filling out the membership application does not mean automatic acceptance into the American Association of Webmasters.  If your membership is denied, there will be NO charge for your membership.

  • The applicants website must promote "High Standards in Web Development."

  • Applications for memberships will undergo a strict review by our trained Committee of Professional Web Developers.

  • Regular Members will receive a "Printable" Membership Certificate (.jpg) that will be delivered to the e-mail within 24 hours.

  • Memberships are accepted based on good design, useful content and a positive contribution to the internet community.

  • The AAWM reserves the right for our trained Committee of Professional Web Developers, to make the judgment of what they feel is "good design, useful content and a positive contribution."

  • If you do not hear back from the AAWM after two weeks of submitting your website for membership, you can assume that your membership was denied, again, no charges will be posted to your credit card.

  • If the applicants website does not meet our approval or violates our terms, conditions or ethics code your website will not be granted a membership.

  • The AAWM Committee will regularly check members websites to make sure they are in compliance with the AAWM membership terms, conditions and ethics. 

  • Members will be sent the membership logo graphic in email upon acceptance.  Our membership icon/logo assures visitors to your website, that your website has undergone a COMPLETE REVIEW BY A COMMITTEE OF PROFESSIONAL WEB DEVELOPERS and will show your visitors that your website "Promotes High Standards in Web Development."

  • If accepted as a member to the AAWM, Members will receive a user name and password to login to our "Members Area", where Members can join our Webmasters Forum, chat live in our Webmasters chat room and have access to resources for Webmasters Certification exams, courses and training centers.

  • Members agree to link the Membership Logo back to our website at: www.aawebmasters.com .

  • Members understand that "Regular Memberships" will be posted on a different page then our "Registered Members."

  • Memberships will be denied to any websites that contains adult content, hacking material, hatred, slander, violence, drugs, alcohol, gambling, gang related, or anything that is rude, harmful, tasteless or degrading to others. 

  • The AAWM will not grant memberships to any websites that are hosted on free servers.

  • The AAWM will not grant memberships to sites that are under construction.

  • If your website displays a forum, guestbook or chat room, they must be free of adult content, foul language or anything tasteless or harmful to others.  If the AAWM finds any violations, your membership will be revoked without notice!  We expect our members to keep up with the content on their forums and monitor them regularly.

  • Members agree to take our Code Of Ethics Pledge, to be accepted as a Regular Member.

  • Members automatically register to be on the AAWM newsletter mailing list and will be kept up to date on the latest AAWM news, press releases, contest, services, resources, online courses, certifications and award store discounts. At most, members will receive the AAWM newsletter once a month.   

  • Members must notify the AAWM if their website has changed to another server or has been taken offline.

  • Finally, all Lifetime Regular Members receives 365/24/7 Free Marketing, with a link of their website promoted on our "Regular Members" page.  Your listing will remain on our website permanently, as long as the members website remains ONLINE.

AAWM Membership Pledge - Code Of Ethics:

1. I Member agree to abide by all local, state, federal and international laws regarding fair trade and business practices.
2. I Member agree to protect the privacy of the very young . For that reason, I will never collect or maintain information on my website from children that I know are under 13, and no part of my website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
3. I Member agree (if my website offers products or services) to post a valid land mailing address and phone number, not just a form for visitors to contact me through my website.
4 I Member agree that I will always have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under my control.  If I have a E-Commerce site I will display an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) shopping cart, to ensure my shoppers that they are ordering from a safe website.

I Member agree when selling products on my website, I will offer a "satisfaction guaranteed", along with post a privacy statement to ensure my visitors that anything they send to me through my email or website is strictly confidential.

I Member agree  to post a disclaimer on my website, if selling products, software items or downloads.
7.
I Member agree to provide a user friendly and family safe site for my visitors.
8.
I Member agree to provide a website which does not display any of the following: adult content, discrimination, hate, sex, violence, drugs, tobacco, firearms, gambling, alcohol, slander, foul language or anything that is harmful, rude or degrading to others.
9.
I Member agree to abide by a "No Spam" policy on my website and refrain from the use of Spam or unsolicited bulk e-mail.
10.
I Member agree not to send the AAWM Emails, unrelated to questions regarding my Membership or the AAWM website. I understand that sending the AAWM unsolicited emails will be reason to have my membership revoked.
11.
I Member agree  to show exceptional professionalism and integrity online.
12.
I Member agree  to respect the rights of others, whether it be through my own website or signing on to the AAWM Message Boards and Chat rooms.
13.
I Member agree to notify the AAWM if my URL is offline or removed from the World Wide Web.  I understand that I may not carry my AAWM Memberships over to another domain.  If I change domains,  I will  re-register for a new membership with the AAWM.
14. Finally,
I Member agree to always "Promote High Standards in Web Development and a Positive Contribution to the Internet Community.

Anyone who has not registered for a Registered Membership OR Regular Membership with the AAWM, under NO circumstances may display the AAWM Membership Logos!  Displaying our logo without acceptance into the AAWM is a violation of the AAWM trademark and USA copyright laws.
